Description
Minimalist and authentic, but also elegant and filigree: the 118 is a wooden chair with a classic design revisited by the talented Sebastian Herkner. Light, sober and refined, it can be combined with a wide range of tables for private interiors as well as for restaurants and hotels. The principle of reducing to a minimum the elements that make up a chair was created by Michael Thonet in the mid-19th century. The 118 chair preserves this heritage while perfecting this idea.
Sebastian Herkner has added refined details that make the chair less imposing and even more beautiful. The shape of the legs is special: their rounded back is broken by curved edges on the front, creating lines that echo the horseshoe shape of the seat. Referring to the original 214 Thonet chair, the seat frame is made of a single curved piece of handmade Viennese cane. The 118 chair is available with an optional trough seat or single-sided upholstered seat.
