VP GLOBE SUSPENSION
Designed in 1969 by Verner Panton, the VP Globe suspension is arguably Panton's most recognized lighting fixture.
A little-known story behind the inspiration for this suspension is the influence of Venice.
Panton was known for his desire to explore, travel and discover different places and cultures. One of his favorite destinations was Venice, Italy, and he made several visits to the famous "city on water". It was during one of these visits that he fell under the spell of the slightly pinkish light emitted by the city's ancient lampposts, so much so that he wants his future lighting projects to simulate this unique experience.
The VP Globe is perhaps the most successful execution of this early inspiration, as its special layered design combined with the acrylic globe emits a warm, soft, ambient light, a Panton signature.
True to Panton's creative approach, the VP Globe is also available in different configurations and sizes, exploring different materials and expressions.
All VP globes are 100% hand assembled in Denmark.
