COFFEE TABLE SET B 9 ALL SEASONS
The bentwood technique perfected by Michael Thonet was one of the sources of inspiration that prompted Marcel Breuer to experiment with tubular steel. This was the inspiration for the set of four B 9 nesting tables. These small tables can be used in many ways: as a side table to complement a set of armchairs, as a practical storage surface or to showcase a beautiful vase filled with flowers.
After use, they slide under each other to take up less space. The special feature of this program is its functional simplicity: the nesting tables are simply made of chrome-plated curved steel tubes and rectangular tops.
During his years at the Bauhaus, Marcel Breuer experimented with tubular steel, a then new and very promising material for furniture. The development of his concept was accelerated by the close cooperation with the aircraft manufacturer Junkers in Dessau.
